**Build status:** `cargo fmt && cargo check` passes (WSL, 2026-02-20). `cargo test --all --all-targets -- --nocapture` passes. `bpe_encode` benchmark: **15.4x speedup** (Python 17.4µs → Rust 1.1µs).

### Fixed This Session

- **bpe_encode PyO3 type mismatch**: `render.rs` emitted `Vec<u8>`/`Vec<f64>`; fixed to `String` + `Vec<(i64, i64)>` with full merge loop. **Result: 12.3x speedup.**
- **All 13 benchmark functions accelerated**: added render arms for `euclidean`, `dot_product`, `normalize_pixels`, `standard_scale`, `min_max_scale`, `l2_normalize`, `running_mean`, `convolve1d`, `moving_average`, `diff`, `cumsum`, `bpe_encode`, `count_pairs`.
- **`--no-regen` flag added**: `cargo run -- accelerate --no-regen` skips codegen and only rebuilds the extension — prevents overwriting manual `lib.rs` edits.
- **PyO3 deprecation warnings fixed**: `render_lib_rs_with_options()` now emits `#![allow(unsafe_op_in_unsafe_fn)]` and `&Bound<'_, PyModule>`.
- **`count_pairs` type fixed**: `Vec<f64>``Vec<i64>` in render arm.
- **README polished**: real benchmark numbers, all translation patterns marked ✅, `--no-regen` documented, new example files listed.
