# Installation

## From source (Cargo)

**Latest release:**

```shell
cargo install --git https://gitlab.com/adnap/tools/adnv.git --tag v1.5.0 -F cli
```

**Latest development version:**

```shell
cargo install --git https://gitlab.com/adnap/tools/adnv.git --branch develop -F cli
```

### Requirements

- Rust 1.96 or later
- System libraries: `libssl-dev`, `pkg-config`, `cmake` (for `libgit2`)

## Docker

```shell
docker pull registry.gitlab.com/adnap/tools/adnv:latest
```

Run in Docker:

```shell
docker run --rm -v $(pwd):/workspace -w /workspace \
  registry.gitlab.com/adnap/tools/adnv:latest \
  adnv outdated --recursive
```

## Verify installation

```shell
adnv --version
# adnv 1.4.1 (v1.4.1 release x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu)

adnv --help
```
