The transport is part of the address and nothing falls back from one to another on its own: that would change who may connect and what proves them without saying so [0010 §4.6].

Quic(EndpointAddr)

weida://[fingerprint@]host:port/path — the network transport.

Inproc(InprocAddr)

weida+inproc://bus/path — in process, no socket and no identity.

Unix(UnixAddr)

weida+unix://<percent-encoded>/path — AF_UNIX, the kernel proves the peer.

Pipe(PipeAddr)

weida+pipe://<name>/path — a Windows named pipe, the kernel proves the peer.
