Store

Struct Store

Source
pub struct Store { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

The conversations of one working folder.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Store

Source

pub fn new(root: &Path, folder: &Path) -> Self

The store for folder under root, the folder conversations are kept in.

Source

pub fn file(&self) -> &Path

The file the conversation is kept in.

Source

pub fn load(&mut self) -> Conversation

The conversation kept for the folder; an empty one when there is none yet, or when the file is not a conversation this program can read.

Such a file is left exactly as it is: the next save moves it aside under a name with the time in it rather than writing over it, so a thread this program cannot read is never lost.

Source

pub fn save(&mut self, conversation: &Conversation) -> Result<()>

Writes conversation in one step, so a crash leaves the old file or the new one.

A file that load could not read as a conversation is moved aside first, the way ctrl+n keeps the conversation it starts a new one over.

§Errors

When the folder cannot be made or the file cannot be written.

Source

pub fn put_aside(&self) -> Result<()>

Moves the folder’s conversation aside under a name with the time in it, so a new one can start without the old one being lost. Nothing happens when there is none.

§Errors

When the file cannot be moved.
