pub struct LoggingConfig {
pub disk_logging_enabled: bool,
}Expand description
Logging configuration for a single environment (environments.<env>.logging).
Controls where node logs are allowed to go. Remote/network log shipping (e.g. to the control plane) is independent of this setting and is never affected by it.
This is nested under each entry in environments (rather than living as a
single top-level logging block on the project config) so e.g. a robot’s
prod deployment can disable disk logging - it already ships logs to a
remote server - while its dev environment keeps writing to disk for local
debugging.
Example:
{
"environments": {
"prod": {
"control_plane": "https://mecha.industries",
"logging": {
"disk_logging_enabled": false
}
}
}
}Fields§
§disk_logging_enabled: boolWhether node stdout/stderr may be written to local disk under logs/.
Defaults to true (existing behavior). Set to false on edge/robot
deployments that already ship logs to a remote server: local disk
logs are then redundant, can grow unbounded and fill the device’s
disk, and repeated writes wear out SD cards / USB storage on robot
hardware. This only disables disk-based log sinks (file appenders /
rotating log writers) — remote/network log shipping keeps working
regardless of this setting.
