WAL-pin attribution: who currently holds the database open, and how complete that answer is.

status, status_reasons, and the tagged census field are the authoritative wire contract. The older sibling booleans and PID arrays remain available to Rust callers but are not serialized. Sidecar evidence is collected through the handle-checked, bounded, non-mutating diagnostics enumerator and reconciled with the OS holder census.

Fields§

§status: WalPinAttributionStatus

Authoritative quality of the complete attribution answer.

§status_reasons: Vec<String>

Machine-adjacent reasons why the answer is degraded or unavailable.

§census: WalPinCensus

Authoritative tagged result of the OS holder census.

§available: bool

false plus an unavailable_reason whenever the OS census failed, or when only a partial (census-only) answer is available.

§unavailable_reason: Option<String>§census_holder_pids: Vec<u32>

OS-derived census of every PID holding the DB file open.

§census_uninspectable_pids: Vec<u32>§census_truncated: bool§census_is_complete: bool§reporting: Vec<WalPinHolder>

Live, identity-matched heartbeats found in the sidecar.

§registered_silent_pids: Vec<u32>

Live, identity-matched beacons with no over-threshold heartbeat.

§unknown_pids: Vec<u32>

Sidecar entries whose identity or freshness could not be established.

§census_pids_without_attribution: Vec<u32>

OS-confirmed holders absent from every sidecar classification.

§fully_attributed: bool

Whether both evidence sources completed and every holder was present in a conclusive sidecar classification.

§sidecar_entries: Vec<Value>

Machine-readable sidecar classifications, ordered by PID and status.

§sidecar_listing_truncated: Option<bool>

Present only when this request actually enumerated the sidecar.

§sidecar_entries_cleanup_would_reap: Option<usize>

Number of stale producer temps a housekeeping pass would reap. The diagnostic pass itself never performs that cleanup.
