Enum TilesEvent

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum TilesEvent { BoundsChanged { panel: PanelId, bounds: Bounds<Pixels>, }, BringToFront { panel: PanelId, }, ClosePanel { panel: PanelId, }, DragDrop { item: AnyDrag, }, ZoomIn { panel: PanelId, }, ZoomOut, }
Expand description

Everything gpui_base::dock exports, so a consumer never has to depend on the foundation crate directly to write a skin or read a container’s state. Kept in step with base’s own list by every_base_dock_export_is_reachable_from_here.

Two names are handled elsewhere and one is deliberately absent: base’s Panel and PanelView arrive as BasePanel and BasePanelView because this module’s Panel/PanelView are the presentation halves that extend them, and base’s Dock — a plain state struct holding one dock’s open, collapsible, size and resizing flags — is not re-exported at all, because the name meant a panel container in every released version of this crate and handing it back with a different meaning is worse than dropping it. A skin reads a dock through DockContext. What a tiles canvas cannot carry out on its own.

The canvas mirrors one Tiles node but does not own the tree that node lives in, so — exactly as with TabGroupEvent — every outcome is reported as an intent and applied by the container through PaneTree::set_tile_bounds / PaneTree::bring_to_front.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

BoundsChanged

A tile finished moving or resizing at bounds.

Fields

§panel: PanelId
§bounds: Bounds<Pixels>
§

BringToFront

A tile was interacted with and should stack above its peers.

Fields

§panel: PanelId
§

ClosePanel

The user asked to close panel, dismissing its tile.

Fields

§panel: PanelId
§

DragDrop

A host-owned drag landed on the canvas. The canvas has free coordinates, so the host reads the landing position itself.

Fields

§item: AnyDrag
§

ZoomIn

One tile asked to fill the whole dock. The container installs the canvas as its zoomed view, and the canvas draws that one tile with its chrome — which is where the control that zooms back out lives.

Fields

§panel: PanelId
§

ZoomOut

The zoomed tile gave the dock back.
