pub struct PathShape(/* private fields */);Expand description
Immutable shared absolute path. Curves retain their controls for exact native fill; stroke length/reveal uses 32 equal-parameter segments per curve. Prepare paths once. Coordinates are bounded to ±1e9 logical pixels to keep native tessellation and length arithmetic in a useful finite range.
Implementations§
Source§impl PathShape
impl PathShape
Sourcepub fn normalize_for_morph(
&self,
other: &Self,
samples: usize,
) -> Result<(Self, Self), PathError>
pub fn normalize_for_morph( &self, other: &Self, samples: usize, ) -> Result<(Self, Self), PathError>
Prepares equally sampled line topology for two paths. Subpaths match by
order and must agree on open/closed status; winding and start points are
preserved. This is geometric resampling, not semantic contour matching.
Closed contours use samples points; open ones include both endpoints.
Curves retain the measurement’s documented approximation. Cache the result
before constructing PathMorphState so no conversion happens per frame.
§Errors
Returns Topology for different contour counts/closure, Geometry for
zero-length contours, or Complexity outside 2..=4096 samples or above
65,536 total output points per shape.
Source§impl PathShape
impl PathShape
Sourcepub fn parse_svg(data: &str) -> Result<Self, SvgPathError>
pub fn parse_svg(data: &str) -> Result<Self, SvgPathError>
Parses an SVG d string, resolving relative/implicit/smooth commands and
converting elliptical arcs to cubic Beziers. This does not parse an SVG
document, paints, transforms, or CSS. Prepare once outside rendering.
Input is bounded to 1 MiB and 65,536 expanded commands.
§Errors
Returns grammar errors with their original position, geometry errors for
non-finite/out-of-range coordinates, or Complexity when budgets are exceeded.
use gpui_ce_motion::PathShape;
let path = PathShape::parse_svg("M0 0h20a10 10 0 0 1 10 10z").unwrap();
assert!(path.commands().len() >= 4);Source§impl PathShape
impl PathShape
Sourcepub fn new(
commands: impl IntoIterator<Item = PathCommand>,
) -> Result<Self, PathError>
pub fn new( commands: impl IntoIterator<Item = PathCommand>, ) -> Result<Self, PathError>
Validates commands before allocating retained morph state.
Sourcepub fn commands(&self) -> &[PathCommand]
pub fn commands(&self) -> &[PathCommand]
Prepared absolute commands.
Sourcepub fn compatible(&self, other: &Self) -> bool
pub fn compatible(&self, other: &Self) -> bool
Whether native coordinate interpolation can preserve command topology.
