# standard-plugin-cli
`standard-plugin`: scaffold, build, check and pack
[Standard Code](https://standardcode.ai) plugins, WebAssembly components
written with [`standard-plugin-sdk`](https://crates.io/crates/standard-plugin-sdk).
```sh
rustup target add wasm32-wasip2
cargo install standard-plugin-cli --locked
standard-plugin new my-card --kind ui # or --kind daemon, --kind companion
cd my-card
standard-plugin build # cargo build for wasm32-wasip2, into bundle/
standard-plugin check # manifest, grants, imports against the world
standard-plugin pack # a deterministic tarball and its SHA-256
standard-plugin install # hands the package to `standard plugin install`
standard-plugin guide # the SDK's guides, for the SDK version in Cargo.lock
```
It also runs as `cargo standard-plugin`. The CLI embeds the WIT package and
the scaffold templates of the SDK version it was released with, so a new
plugin and `check` always agree with that SDK.
The plugin guides ship with `standard-plugin-sdk`, in its `docs/`
directory. `standard-plugin guide` lists them, and `standard-plugin guide
<name>` prints one, from the SDK a plugin's `Cargo.lock` resolves; outside a
plugin project it prints the guides of the SDK this CLI was released with.
`standard-plugin new` writes an `AGENTS.md` that points coding agents at
them.
