**Specific Gaps:**

The integration test framework could have been implemented with just 2-3 basic tests and expanded later, but the process didn't provide clear guidance on where to draw that line.

### Scope Creep Prevention Framework

**Key Insight**: We need regular checkpoints that ask "HAVE WE ALLOWED SCOPE CREEP?" without changing the original goal.

**Critical Distinction**:
- **EXTRANEOUS SCOPE**: Work that doesn't belong to the current task and should be removed
- **DEFERRED SCOPE**: Work that belongs to the task but can be implemented in a follow-up task
