**Objective**: Complete Phase 8 (Distribution and Testing) of the Java bindings project for pdf_oxide.

- ✅ Updated `scripts/build-natives.sh` to handle library naming fallback
  - Now detects both `libpdf_oxide_jni.so` and `libpdf_oxide.so`
  - Automatically renames library to correct JNI name

**Status**: Clean rebuild in progress with `--features java` flag

**Current Progress**: Compiling (cargo process PID 6707 running)

- Clean build (no cached artifacts)
- 113 GB of previous builds removed
- All dependencies compiled from source
- Optimization level 3 with LTO enabled
- Multiple feature flags processed

### Issue: Library naming
**Status**: ✅ RESOLVED
- Native library was `libpdf_oxide.so` instead of `libpdf_oxide_jni.so`
- Solution: Updated build script with fallback detection
- Files affected: `scripts/build-natives.sh`

### Issue: JNI symbols not exported
**Status**: ⏳ MONITORING
- Expected: Symbols should be present after build with `--features java`
- Will verify once build completes
- Fallback: Manual symbol verification and library inspection

### Issue: Maven classpath for examples
**Status**: ✅ RESOLVED
- Examples now include proper classpath configuration
- Files affected: `java/examples/RUN_EXAMPLES.sh`
