# magi-code 0.104.0

## New features

- **Bulk file reads:** Agents can call `tools.readMany({paths: knownPaths, intent: "Inspect selected files"})` in Code Mode for up to 256 known paths or selectors. Results preserve input order and report per-file failures, omissions, and coverage.
- **Launch-only controls:** Run `MC_FORCE_STANDARD_SPEED=1 magi-code` to force Standard speed. Set `MC_DISABLE_SKILLS=1`, `MC_DISABLE_MCP=1`, or `MC_DISABLE_SUBAGENTS=1` before launching to disable those capabilities. Any value activates these controls; unset them to restore normal behavior. Saved settings and credentials remain unchanged. These controls do not restrict ordinary file or shell access. Local-agent clients can confirm activation through `status.standard_speed_forced` and `status.capability_restrictions`.

## Fixes

- Preserve provider-reported cache-write token counts across saved sessions, delegated work, and compaction. Missing counts remain unknown rather than becoming zero.
- Rejected hash edits now include bounded, tagged context for recovery. Agents can use fully displayed lines for a new edit after reviewing them; omitted lines still require reading.

## Other changes

- Sessions no longer expire automatically. Use `/prune-sessions [days]` to remove older sessions explicitly; the default remains 30 days, with active sessions protected. The `sessions.retention_days` setting is removed.
- Embedded language-server support, automatic post-edit diagnostics, and LSP settings are removed. Existing LSP settings are ignored.
