AudioContinuity

Enum AudioContinuity

Source
pub enum AudioContinuity {
    Exact,
    ContinueSmallGaps,
}
Expand description

What AudioRenderer::render does with a block that does not start where the previous one ended.

Variants§

§

Exact

Every such block resets the renderer and replays the settling history before it, so it mixes what a fresh renderer would: a block’s output depends only on where its run of consecutive blocks began, never on what was mixed before that. Exports, loudness measurements, and any output that must repeat use it.

§

ContinueSmallGaps

For live preview only. A block that starts at most AudioRenderer::max_block samples before or after where the previous one ended continues from the state that block left, as if it began where that one ended: nothing is reset or replayed, and the block’s input follows the previous block’s into every processor whichever way it stepped (a backward step feeds the samples it covers again after those it already fed). Any longer jump, and the first block after a reset, is exact. A small step (a block mixed again once its media arrived, a transport nudging the playhead) then costs one block instead of a replay of up to MAX_SETTLING_SECONDS; the mix after it carries tails and envelopes across the step, so it is not what a fresh renderer would mix there. It is still determined by the blocks asked for, in order.
