Lineage record for a single value.

Fields

origin: String

How the value entered the shell — e.g. cmdsubst "date +%s", glob "*.rs", param FOO.

origin_site: Site

Where and when the value entered the shell.

ops: Vec<ProvOp>

Append-only chain of operations that touched the value after the origin. Latest op last.

owner: Option<String>

Tracked parameter this chain belongs to, when it has one. Ops recorded against a derived value also extend the owner’s node, so provenance NAME shows what happened to the value after it left the parameter.

dropped_ops: usize

Ops that were not stored because the chain hit MAX_OPS.
