Expand description

What the tier is holding and what it is allowed to hold — the row a dashboard prints and Admin.StorageInfo carries.

Fields§

§eager_bytes: u64

Bytes in the eager pool (commits and tags under the shipped policy).

§lazy_bytes: u64

Bytes in the lazy pool, across every live segment.

§budget: u64

The cap. 0 is unlimited.

§segments: u64

Live lazy segments.

§evicted_segments: u64

Segments unlinked since this store was opened.

§evicted_bytes: u64

Bytes those segments held. Applied output: what actually left the filesystem, measured before the unlink, not a projection.

§evicted_rows: u64

Rows those segments held.

§written_back: u64

Objects written back by a first read.

§direct_reads: u64

Reads served by inflating the object directly out of the pack and caching NOTHING — the cheap ones the admission policy declined. Applied output: the counter says the policy ran, which a size alone could not.

§suppressed_write_backs: u64

Write-backs declined because the caller declared the read a validation read (suppress_write_back) — a receive-pack’s connectivity walk, not a reader.

Applied output, and the only way to tell the suppression ran from a store that simply had nothing to cache: a pool that stays empty proves nothing on its own, and this counter moving proves the gate fired.

Implementations§

Source§

impl CacheUse

Source

pub fn used(&self) -> u64

Source

pub fn band(&self) -> String

3.1G/8G — what the dashboard cell prints.

Source

pub fn over(&self) -> bool

Over budget right now — true only while the eager pool alone exceeds it, because the lazy pool is evicted back under after every rotation.
