Module encode

Expand description

One value, one type, the bytes between them.

The walk follows the layout plan, not a second reading of the model: whether a structure carries a delimiter, what header each member takes and which length code it uses are all the plan’s decisions. A probe that decided them again would agree with the plan only until one of the two changed.

Enums§

ProbeError
Why a probe could not produce bytes.

Functions§

encode
Serialise values as request.type_name.
encode_continuing
As encode, for a value that continues a sample whose first start octets someone else wrote: alignment counts from the start of the sample, and only the value’s own octets are returned.
encode_recording
As encode, recording which scalars of the value were read.
encode_with_padding
As encode, and the offsets of the octets that carry no value.
key_holder
Actual serialized holder, before zero padding or hashing.
serialized_key
Encode the writer’s own serializedKey (DDSI-RTPS 2.5 §9.4.2.11) — the key-only payload a dispose/unregister DATA carries behind its K flag — in the representation and byte order request names.
