As encode, for a value that continues a sample whose first start octets someone else wrote: alignment counts from the start of the sample, and only the value’s own octets are returned.

DDS-RPC 1.0 §7.5.1.1.6 puts the Call union behind a header of variable length, and under XCDR1 an 8-octet member of it aligns to the sample. The request must be Emit::Payload.

Errors

As encode; ProbeError::Unsupported for another emit.
