Expand description

A policy value the generated code names.

Every runtime publishes the same set — they implement the same clauses — and each spells them its own way: ZDW_WCHAR_WIDTH_2 in C against WcharWidth.OCTETS_2 in Java. An enum rather than the C string, so a backend that forgets one does not compile instead of emitting a name javac has never seen.

Variants§

§

WcharWidth2

A scalar wchar is two octets wide.

§

WcharWidth4

A scalar wchar is four octets wide.

§

WcharFixed

A wchar carries no length octet.

§

WcharGiopLengthPrefixed

A wchar carries GIOP’s length octet.

§

WstringUnitsStream

A wstring’s code units go in the stream’s byte order.

§

WstringUnitsBigEndianAlways

Big-endian whatever the stream is.

§

WstringUnitsByteOrderMark

Preceded by a byte-order mark.

§

WstringUnitsHostUnswapped

In the host’s order, unswapped.

§

WstringSpecification

§7.4.1.1.2: octets, no terminator.

§

WstringCharacterCount

Characters rather than octets.

§

WstringCharacterCountTerminated

Characters, and a terminator.

§

WstringSpecificationWideUnits

Octets in wide units.

§

WstringRosTypeSupport

What rosidl writes.

§

WstringOctetsTerminated2

Octets, terminated, two-octet units.

§

WstringOctetsTerminated4

Octets, terminated, four-octet units.

§

WstringCharactersTerminated2

Characters, terminated, two-octet units.

§

FixedDeclared

A fixed writes the digits its type declared.

§

FixedValuePrecision

A fixed writes as many digits as the value has.

§

FixedValueStringDigits

A fixed writes the digit count of the input string, padded to odd.

§

ParameterMember

A PL_CDR1 parameter carries a member.

§

ParameterOptional

A PL_CDR1 parameter carries an @optional member.

§

TryConstructDiscard

§7.2.2.7: the sample is discarded.

§

TryConstructTrim

The value is trimmed to what fits.

§

TryConstructUseDefault

The member takes Table 9’s value.

§

StatusOk

The reader is still good.

§

StatusDiscarded

The reader gave up: the sample is discarded.

§

StatusImpossibleLength

A length no stream that long can carry.

§

StatusOutOfRange

A value outside what the type can hold.

§

StatusTruncated

The stream ended where a value was expected.
