For a caller that emits its own preamble — a codec pass writing beside the types. The statements name M, so the caller has to bind it; lua_file is what a generator writes to disk. The module tables come first (M.Robot = {} before M.Robot.Pose = …): without them the first declaration inside a module indexes nil at load.
