MessageBuilder

Struct MessageBuilder

Source
pub struct MessageBuilder<'a> { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

Message builder helper that handles the length field.

PostgreSQL message format:

  • Type byte (1 byte) - NOT included in length
  • Length (4 bytes) - includes itself
  • Payload (Length - 4 bytes)

Implementations§

Source§

impl<'a> MessageBuilder<'a>

Source

pub fn new(buf: &'a mut Vec<u8>, type_byte: u8) -> Self

Start building a message with a type byte.

Source

pub fn new_startup(buf: &'a mut Vec<u8>) -> Self

Start building a startup message (no type byte).

Source

pub fn buf(&mut self) -> &mut Vec<u8>

Get mutable access to the underlying buffer.

Source

pub fn write_u8(&mut self, value: u8)

Write a u8.

Source

pub fn write_i16(&mut self, value: i16)

Write an i16.

Source

pub fn write_u16(&mut self, value: u16)

Write a u16.

Source

pub fn write_i32(&mut self, value: i32)

Write an i32.

Source

pub fn write_u32(&mut self, value: u32)

Write a u32.

Source

pub fn write_bytes(&mut self, data: &[u8])

Write raw bytes.

Source

pub fn write_cstr(&mut self, s: &str)

Write null-terminated string.

Source

pub fn finish(self)

Finish building the message and fill in the length field.
