#[non_exhaustive]pub enum ErrorCategory {
Client,
Server,
RateLimit,
Network,
Auth,
Serialization,
Other,
}Expand description
Coarse classification of a ZaiError for retry/recovery decisions.
The single source of truth consulted by ZaiError::category; the
is_client_error /
is_server_error predicates derive from it so
they can never drift apart.
Variants (Non-exhaustive)§
This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
Client
Caller-side (4xx): bad request, bad params, business-rule violation.
Server
Server-side (5xx): transient backend failure.
RateLimit
Rate limiting / quota (HTTP 429 and the documented quota business codes).
Network
Network / transport failure (connection, timeout, WebSocket).
Auth
Authentication / authorization — re-auth, do not retry.
Serialization
(De)serialization of a payload — programmer error.
Other
Anything not covered above.
