Expand description

What Project::sync does.

Variants§

§

Resolve

chest install: keep what is locked, fresh and present, holding what the lock pins as chest’s record says. Replay what is locked and fresh but missing or different, resolve the rest, then write the lock and the .gitignore block and remove what the manifest dropped. A copy chest placed that changed since stays as it is, and its entry is Outcome::Edited.

§

Update(Vec<String>)

chest update: Mode::Resolve, resolving the named entries, or all with no names, again even when their lock is fresh.

§

Frozen

chest install --frozen: fail on a missing or stale lock and on an installed copy that no longer matches its hash, unless chest’s record holds it, placed for another lock and unchanged since. Put back what is missing, and such copies, as the lock pins them. Never writes the lock.

§

Startup

yapi startup: replay what is locked, fresh and missing, unless offline, and skip the rest with one warning. Never writes the lock or .gitignore.

Fields

§offline: bool

Whether to leave missing entries alone rather than download them.
