The lifecycle state of a single task node.

Transitions follow a strict FSM:

Pending → Running → Completed
                 ↘ Failed { error, retries }
Any → Cancelled

Variants

Pending

Not yet started. All dependencies are still pending/running.

Running

Currently being executed by a CoderAgent.

Completed

Successfully finished. result on the TaskNode is populated.

Failed

Execution failed. Contains the error message and how many times we have already retried. The executor increments retries before each retry attempt.

Human-readable error description (from anyhow chain).

retries: u32

Number of retry attempts so far (0 = failed on first try).

Cancelled

Explicitly cancelled (e.g. because a dependency failed and the executor is configured to cancel downstream tasks on failure).
