    pub id: String,
    pub name: String,
    pub color: String,
    pub description: String,
}

Fields§

§id: String§name: String§color: String

GitHub’s colour name for the option — what makes a board recognisable.

§description: String

Kept even when empty: updating the option list replaces the whole configuration, so omitting a description would erase one GitHub holds.

A column with no description is the ordinary case, and GitHub says so with null — not with "" and not by leaving the field out. As a bare String that failed to parse, so a board whose columns had no descriptions could not be read at all: “a project column has no description”, about every board anybody makes without typing one. null is read as empty. ABSENT is not, and that difference is the whole of it: a key GitHub did not send means this build never asked for it, and reading that as "" writes an empty description back over one that exists the next time the column list is updated. default used to erase exactly that distinction.
