pub struct SlidingWindow { /* private fields */ }Expand description
A sliding-window counter using two half-windows for smooth transitions.
This avoids the “boundary spike” problem of fixed-window counters by weighting the previous and current window counts proportionally.
Implementations§
Source§impl SlidingWindow
impl SlidingWindow
Sourcepub fn new(max_requests: u64, window_ms: u64, burst_allowance: u64) -> Self
pub fn new(max_requests: u64, window_ms: u64, burst_allowance: u64) -> Self
Create a new sliding window with the given limits.
max_requests: Maximum requests per window before burst is consumed.window_ms: Window duration in milliseconds (e.g. 60_000 for RPM).burst_allowance: Extra capacity abovemax_requestsfor short bursts.
Sourcepub fn try_acquire(&self) -> bool
pub fn try_acquire(&self) -> bool
Try to acquire a permit. Returns true if allowed, false if rate-limited.
A max_requests of 0 means unlimited (no rate limiting).
Sourcepub fn current_rate(&self) -> f64
pub fn current_rate(&self) -> f64
Get current estimated request count (weighted across windows).
