RegisteredUse

Struct RegisteredUse

Source
pub struct RegisteredUse { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

A marker the ring holds while a registered-buffer-indexed read or write is outstanding (M5.2, M5.3).

Decrements RegisteredBuffers’s count for the one buffer the operation addressed only when the ring returns the entry: an entry the ring forgets rather than returns takes this with it, which correctly leaves the registration believing that use is still outstanding, since nothing proved otherwise.

The count is per buffer rather than per registration (M13.2) so that RegisteredBuffers::get_mut can hand out a &mut to a quiet buffer while operations are still in flight against its neighbours – which is what an arena a caller refills has to be able to do.
