IoFault

Struct IoFault

Source
pub struct IoFault {
    pub source: &'static str,
    pub code: Option<ErrorCode>,
    pub error: Arc<Error>,
}
Expand description

A fault, as the layer that observed it reported it (DI-D-50): what failed an operation or a commit, relayed with where it came from.

Two faults are equal when they name the same source and code and carry the same report – the one shared Arc, as a marking and the completion it records share it – since an io::Error has no equality of its own.

Fields§

§source: &'static str

The layer that reported it: "windows-ioring" for dioring over Windows.

§code: Option<ErrorCode>

The layer’s code for it, where it gives one. Its meaning is the source’s: an HRESULT from the Windows backend, which always gives one.

§error: Arc<Error>

The layer’s own report.

impl Eq for IoFault

Source§

impl Error for IoFault

So a driver can hand a fault to a consumer as the source of an io::Error that downcasts back to it, as a RefusalCause does.

Source§

fn source(&self) -> Option<&(dyn Error + 'static)>

Returns the lower-level source of this error, if any. Read more
1.0.0 · Source§

fn description(&self) -> &str

👎Deprecated since 1.42.0:

use the Display impl or to_string()

1.0.0 · Source§

fn cause(&self) -> Option<&dyn Error>

👎Deprecated since 1.33.0:

replaced by Error::source, which can support downcasting
