Expand description

Describes how downloaded media bytes should be processed after HTTP fetch.

Mirrors WhatsApp Web’s isMediaCryptoExpectedForMediaType() pattern: encrypted (E2EE) media requires AES-256-CBC decryption + HMAC verification, while unencrypted media (newsletters/channels) only needs SHA-256 validation.

Encrypted

E2E encrypted media: decrypt with AES-256-CBC using HKDF-expanded keys from the media key, then verify HMAC-SHA256 integrity.

Plaintext

Unencrypted media (newsletter/channel): verify SHA-256 hash of the raw downloaded bytes. No decryption needed.
