SyncMechanism

Enum SyncMechanism

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum SyncMechanism { None, ImplicitGlFlush, ExplicitExternalSemaphore, ExplicitFence, }
Expand description

Describes how the producer signals that a frame is ready and how the consumer signals that it has finished reading.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

None

No synchronization is needed (e.g. single-threaded, or the producer and consumer share a submission queue).

§

ImplicitGlFlush

The producer calls glFlush() before handing the frame over. This is the most common mechanism for GL→wgpu interop and the default used by ImplicitOnlySynchronizer.

§

ExplicitExternalSemaphore

An explicit Vulkan/Metal external semaphore is signalled by the producer. Not yet handled by any built-in synchronizer.

§

ExplicitFence

An explicit CPU-side fence is used. Not yet handled by any built-in synchronizer.
