RustDynamicLibraries

Struct RustDynamicLibraries

Source
pub struct RustDynamicLibraries { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

Dynamic Rust libraries required by a shared-runtime development build.

Implementations§

Source§

impl RustDynamicLibraries

Source

pub async fn resolve( lib_dir: &Path, triple: &Triple, project: &Project, ) -> Result<Self>

Resolve the shared WaterUI runtime and target Rust standard library.

The prebuilt libstd comes from the toolchain project selects — the one RustBuild compiled the runtime under — so the runtime and the shipped standard library agree; a runtime built under one toolchain and shipped with another’s libstd fails at launch on the missing library hash.

§Errors

Returns an error when either required dynamic library is absent or ambiguous.

Source

pub fn waterui(&self) -> &Path

Shared WaterUI runtime path.

Source

pub fn standard_library(&self) -> &Path

Target Rust standard-library dynamic library path.

Source

pub fn iter(&self) -> impl Iterator<Item = &Path>

Iterate over every library that must be staged with the application.

Source

pub async fn stage(&self, destination: &Path) -> Result<()>

Copy all required dynamic libraries into a runtime search directory.

Staging goes through the reflinking copy so a shared runtime that every build output needs a copy of costs one set of extents instead of one full copy per destination. A copy-on-write clone is also the only sharing that is safe here: these staged libraries are rewritten in place later (install_name_tool), so hard links would corrupt the Cargo artifact they were linked to.

§Errors

Returns an error when the destination cannot be created or a library cannot be copied.

Source

pub async fn remove_staged(destination: &Path, triple: &Triple) -> Result<()>

Remove shared-runtime libraries left by an earlier development build.

§Errors

Returns an error when the destination cannot be read or a matching library cannot be removed.
