Why an AuditKey was rotated. Recorded on the successor key so an investigator can tell why a particular epoch ended.

Variants§

Initial

Initial key derived from the master seed via HKDF. Always present as the first row.

§

Routine

Routine age-triggered rotation (the audit background task fired).

§

Manual

Operator invoked the rotate CLI / endpoint.

§

Rtbf

Right-to-be-forgotten override — the rotation closes the previous epoch and makes its hashes opaque.
