pub struct FoRScheme { /* private fields */ }Expand description
Frame of Reference encoding.
The v1 mode subtracts one reference, the array’s minimum. The v2 mode subtracts one reference
per 1024-element chunk, the chunk’s minimum. Arrays with a single reference, including v2
arrays whose references compress to a constant, serialize as fastlanes.for, while per-chunk
references serialize as fastlanes.for.v2.
The default uses v1. refine picks v2 when the v2 ID is allowed and v1
otherwise.

Trait Implementations§
impl Copy for FoRScheme
impl Eq for FoRScheme
Source§impl Scheme for FoRScheme
impl Scheme for FoRScheme
Source§fn num_children(&self) -> usize
fn num_children(&self) -> usize
Children: references=0 in v2 mode. The encoded child is always bit-packed.
Source§fn ancestor_exclusions(&self) -> Vec<AncestorExclusion>
fn ancestor_exclusions(&self) -> Vec<AncestorExclusion>
Dict codes always start at 0, so FoR (which subtracts the min) is a no-op.
Source§fn scheme_name(&self) -> &'static str
fn scheme_name(&self) -> &'static str
The globally unique name for this scheme (e.g.
"vortex.int.bitpacking").Source§fn matches(&self, canonical: &Canonical) -> bool
fn matches(&self, canonical: &Canonical) -> bool
Whether this scheme can compress the given canonical array.
Source§fn produced_encodings(&self) -> Vec<ArrayId> ⓘ
fn produced_encodings(&self) -> Vec<ArrayId> ⓘ
The serialized IDs this scheme itself may write into its compressed output. Read more
Source§fn refine(&self, allowed: &dyn Fn(&ArrayId) -> bool) -> &dyn Scheme
fn refine(&self, allowed: &dyn Fn(&ArrayId) -> bool) -> &dyn Scheme
Returns the variant of this scheme to use given which serialized IDs are
allowed. Read moreSource§fn expected_compression_ratio(

compress_ctx: CompressorContext,

fn expected_compression_ratio( &self, data: &ArrayAndStats, compress_ctx: CompressorContext, exec_ctx: &mut ExecutionCtx, ) -> CompressionEstimate
Cheaply estimate the compression ratio for this scheme on the given array. Read more
Source§fn compress(
&self,
compressor: &CascadingCompressor,
data: &ArrayAndStats,
compress_ctx: CompressorContext,
exec_ctx: &mut ExecutionCtx,
) -> VortexResult<ArrayRef>
fn compress( &self, compressor: &CascadingCompressor, data: &ArrayAndStats, compress_ctx: CompressorContext, exec_ctx: &mut ExecutionCtx, ) -> VortexResult<ArrayRef>
Compress the array using this scheme. Read more
Source§fn stats_options(&self) -> GenerateStatsOptions
fn stats_options(&self) -> GenerateStatsOptions
Returns the stats generation options this scheme requires. The compressor merges all
eligible schemes’ options before generating stats so that a single stats pass satisfies
every scheme.
Source§fn descendant_exclusions(&self) -> Vec<DescendantExclusion>
fn descendant_exclusions(&self) -> Vec<DescendantExclusion>
Schemes to exclude from specific children’s subtrees (push direction). Read more
