Who fetches what was published while a listen client was offline.

Variants§

Inline

listen folds state, back-fills every channel and syncs DMs before its Community subscriptions go live (DMs go live first, so nothing sent during the sync is missed), and again on each reconnect: a bot starts from a complete picture.

§

External

listen goes live at once and leaves the gap to the caller, which pages it behind the live subscriptions (a UI that paints as history lands).
