Winding selects the traversal direction of a closed contour.

Direction matters wherever traversal carries meaning: under the nonzero fill rule two overlapping contours cancel when their windings oppose and add when they agree, and dashing walks a contour in order.

Variants

Clockwise

Clockwise traverses in the clockwise direction on Valo’s y-down plane.

CounterClockwise

CounterClockwise traverses in the counterclockwise direction.
