How far the first answer to a card got, when a second one arrives.

Four and not two, because each is a different sentence and the difference is what the user came back for. “I am still working on it” must not invite a third click; “I already did that” is what somebody who missed the first reply wants to hear; and a card whose work failed or was closed must not be described as done.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)

Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.

Running

The commands the first answer authorized are still running.

Done

They committed. Their events are surfaced as this turn’s receipts.

Failed

They failed, so the work the card offered did not happen.

Closed

The card was closed without doing that work — declined, dismissed, invalidated or expired.
