Errors from Layer 4 transport operations.

Variants§

§

NotImplemented(String)

The requested transport or feature is not implemented.

§

ConnectFailed(String)

Failed to connect to the peer.

§

ListenFailed(String)

Failed to start listening.

§

HandshakeFailed(String)

The transport-level handshake failed.

§

VersionMismatch

Protocol version mismatch between peers.

Fields

§local: u32

Local protocol version.

§remote: u32

Remote protocol version.

§

HelloTimeout

The remote peer did not produce a hello envelope within the timeout (RFC 017 §8).

§

HelloMalformed(String)

The remote peer sent a hello envelope that did not parse as a valid HelloEnvelope, or used a version we do not support (RFC 017 §8, close code 4002).

§

AppMismatch

The remote peer advertised a different app_id in its hello envelope than we did (RFC 017 §8, close code 4001).

Fields

§local: String

Our local app_id.

§remote: String

The app_id advertised by the remote peer.

§

IdentityMismatch

The hello envelope’s claimed tailscale_id did not match the Tailscale-authenticated identity of the connection (RFC 017 §8, close code 4003).

Fields

§claimed: String

The tailscale_id the hello envelope claimed.

§authenticated: String

The Tailscale-authenticated node ID (WhoIs) of the connection.

§

ConnectionClosed(String)

The connection was closed unexpectedly.

§

Timeout(String)

A send or receive operation timed out.

§

HeartbeatTimeout(Duration)

Heartbeat (ping/pong) failure — the peer stopped responding.

§

WebSocket(String)

WebSocket protocol error.

§

Io(Error)

I/O error from the underlying stream.

§

Serialize(String)

Serialization/deserialization error (e.g., handshake JSON).

§

Network(NetworkError)

Error from Layer 3 (network).
