Span

Struct Span

Source
pub struct Span {
    pub from: Option<u32>,
    pub to: Option<u32>,
}
Expand description

Where a line sounds inside its section — @ 3..8, @ 5.., @ ..4, @ 8.

Cycles are 1-based and inclusive at both ends, matching how a..b reads everywhere else in the language and how a musician counts bars. Either end may be omitted, meaning the section’s own start or end.

Fields§

§from: Option<u32>§to: Option<u32>

Implementations§

Source§

impl Span

Source

pub fn at(cycle: u32) -> Self

A single cycle: @ 8.

Source

pub fn start(&self) -> u32

The first cycle the line sounds on, resolved against its section.

Source

pub fn end(&self, cycles: u32) -> u32

The last cycle the line sounds on, resolved against a section of cycles length.

Source

pub fn contains(&self, cycle: u32, cycles: u32) -> bool

Whether the line sounds on cycle (1-based) of a section of cycles length.

Source

pub fn conflict(&self, cycles: u32) -> Option<String>

Why this span could never sound in a section of cycles length, if so.

A line that can never sound is a mistake rather than a silence, so the two ways of writing one are reported rather than played as a rest.
