The [beads] section: how this repository talks to a beads workspace.

The binary and id_prefix are stated rather than inferred so a workspace that renames its bd binary, or wants its exported rows under a different prefix, can say so without patching tix.

Fields

mode: BeadsMode

Whether tix talks to a beads workspace at all, and how.

binary: String

The binary shelled out to. Default bd.

workspace: Option<PathBuf>

The beads workspace to talk to, when it is not the one bd would find.

Set into BEADS_DIR for every bd call, which is beads’ own override. None means “wherever bd looks”, which is what a beads workspace in this repository (or in a parent) needs.

id_prefix: String

The prefix exported rows carry: issue #1705 becomes tix-1705.

Deterministic, which is what makes a re-export upsert rather than duplicate.

Whether this section carries nothing worth writing: the default section is omitted, so a repository that never opted in gains no [beads] key on save — and an older binary (whose Config is deny_unknown_fields) can still read the file.
