pub enum SteadyStatePolicy {
Responsive,
FreezeAfterConvergence,
FreezeAfterFullCalibration,
}Expand description
What the broker does after it has established a stable split.
All variants share warm-up, cost measurement, guarded model resizing, blackout, ratification, and the first clean steady-state check. Responsive may additionally run an opt-in opening bracket. The two freeze variants make the calibration/overhead tradeoff explicit rather than overloading one ambiguous “freeze” setting.
Variants§
Responsive
Continue low-frequency observation and re-open the controller after a persistent workload change. Also permits an opt-in opening bracket.
FreezeAfterConvergence
Use the model-only path, then stop the controller and release recurring measurement adapters after the first stable split is established.
This makes the recurring broker cost zero for the rest of a stable run, but intentionally gives up adaptation to later workload regimes. Use it only when that tradeoff is known to fit the application.
FreezeAfterFullCalibration
Complete the same opt-in opening calibration as
Responsive, then stop the controller and release
recurring measurement adapters after the first stable split.
This pays a bounded startup calibration cost in exchange for zero recurring broker work. It cannot react to a later workload regime.
