How the broker treats the caller’s initial split.

The default trusts the allocation-independent cost model. Applications with measured allocation-dependent scaling can instead ask the broker to confirm a disagreement between that model and the opening. The experiment is startup-only, bounded in points and wall time, and does no work when the first stable model answer agrees with the opening.

Treat the opening as an initial hint and follow ordinary model moves.

Bracket(OpeningBracketConfig)

Confirm a model/opening disagreement with a bounded local bracket. The model answer is rejected only when a statistically separated, material throughput gain over the best measured opening/model rate is proven at an adjacent point. An inconclusive or regressed comparison may trigger that search unless independent empirical-cap evidence confirms the model target. The opening is never a fallback; deadline-limited evidence also retains the model.
