Controls the inside spacing of math brace groups.

Padded: { a }, { }, x ^ { 2 }. Compact: {a}, {}, x ^ {2}.

This applies both to explicit/implicit Group nodes and to wrapper-owned braces emitted for command/script arguments. Text-mode content and scalar fragments (environment names, dimensions, etc.) are never padded.
