Variants

CliFailed

The tailscale binary ran and exited non-zero.

ApiError

The control plane returned a status we do not model more precisely.

Timeout

The operation did not finish inside its budget.

NotPermitted

The tool exists but this server was not started with the tier or toolset that permits it.

NeedsOperator

The local node refuses the command because the caller is not its configured operator.

UnsupportedVersion

The installed tailscale is older than the command requires.

BackendUnavailable

The backend a tool needs is absent: no binary on the path, no credential configured, or a daemon that is not answering.

InvalidArgs

Arguments parsed but do not describe a workable request.

UnsupportedPlatform

The command does not exist on this operating system.

NotFound

The target of the operation does not exist.

Conflict

The state changed underneath us: a stale ETag, or a resource that already exists.

RateLimited

The control plane asked us to slow down.

ResultTooLarge

The result would exceed the configured size cap.

ConfirmationRequired

The operation is one the caller must state intent for.
