update_status’s compare-and-swap UPDATE ... WHERE status = <observed> matched zero rows: another writer changed status between our read and our write. This is a lost race, not a validation failure — the caller (see dispatcher::update_terminal_status) already retries on any error and re-reads the current status, so surfacing this distinctly (rather than silently overwriting a transition we never validated) is safe to retry.
