pub enum ThinkingDisplay {
Summarized,
Omitted,
}Expand description
What an Anthropic thinking block carries back (thinking_display), sent
as the request’s thinking.display on the foreground session’s requests.
Summarized(default): the model’s thinking summary streams into the block. The API holds the answer back until that summary is written, then flushes the text it generated meanwhile in one burst.Omitted: the block’sthinkingtext is empty; itssignaturestill carries the full reasoning, so history round-trips it unchanged. The answer starts streaming sooner and evenly (measured on Opus 5.5: first text 1.8–2.1 s vs 2.9–4.8 s athigh, 7.9–9.0 s vs 11–12 s atxhigh), and the TUI shows only a timedthoughtheader.
Workers and internal requests (compaction) always send Summarized.
