Expand description

How a copy another tool installed is updated: by that tool’s own command, which self update runs (after asking), or which it only names, saying why. The command is built here from the manager’s name, never read from the installed-by file, whose text is for showing.

Variants§

§

Run

argv is run, its binary found from the copy’s own path so that it is the installation that owns the copy; path_first goes first on PATH (npm’s node, beside it). command is what a user would type.
