pub enum WalkStopKind {
CutShort,
Unreadable,
UnsupportedShape,
}Expand description
The three stops a sequential walk can make, each told apart by what the scanner measured rather than guessed.
Variants§
CutShort
The file ends inside the record at the stop point — the reader ran out of bytes mid-record, or fewer bytes remain than the format’s smallest record header. Everything from the stop point on belongs to that incomplete record, so no entry can be hiding after it — the common damage, and the one a sequential walk handles fully.
Unreadable
Enough bytes remain to hold further records, and the walk could not read the one at the stop point. Whatever those bytes hold is unreachable by construction.
UnsupportedShape
The record at the stop point is one the scanner RECOGNISES — its
WalkStop::cause names it — in a shape this build cannot read (Task
4 fix round 1: an ar symbol table whose header the reader cannot
parse; GNU ar’s Mach-O __.SYMDEF with a blank mode was the first,
and is read since 0.8.1). Not evidence of damage; what follows is
unreachable to this scanner.
