PipeOperator

Enum PipeOperator

Source
pub enum PipeOperator {
    StringConcat,
    LogicalOr,
}
Expand description

What the || operator token means in a dialect.

ANSI and PostgreSQL concatenate; MySQL/MariaDB without PIPES_AS_CONCAT treat || as a synonym for logical OR (sqlglot’s DPIPE_IS_STRING_CONCAT). This is dialect meaning data, not tree shape: both spellings map to a single canonical BinaryOperator, and the precedence follows automatically from that operator — OR binds looser than concatenation, so no separate binding-power override is needed.

Variants§

§

StringConcat

|| concatenates strings (BinaryOperator::StringConcat).

§

LogicalOr

|| is logical OR (BinaryOperator::Or).
