Daemon management subcommands

Variants§

§

Start

Start the sqry daemon in the background.

Locates the sqryd binary (sibling to sqry or on PATH), spawns it with sqryd start --detach, and waits for readiness.

Fields

§sqryd_path: Option<PathBuf>

Path to the sqryd binary (default: auto-detect).

§timeout: u64

Maximum seconds to wait for daemon readiness.

§

Stop

Stop the running sqry daemon.

Fields

§timeout: u64

Maximum seconds to wait for graceful shutdown.

§

Status

Show daemon status (version, uptime, memory, workspaces).

Fields

§json: bool

Emit machine-readable JSON instead of human-readable output.

§

Logs

Tail the daemon log file.

Fields

§lines: usize

Number of lines to show from the end of the log.

§follow: bool

Follow the log file for new output (like tail -f).

§

Load

Load a workspace into the running daemon.

Connects to the daemon and sends a daemon/load request with the canonicalized path. The daemon’s WorkspaceManager indexes the workspace, caches the graph in memory, and starts watching for file changes to rebuild incrementally.

Fields

§path: PathBuf

Workspace root directory to load.

§

Rebuild

Trigger an in-place graph rebuild for a loaded workspace.

Sends a daemon/rebuild request to the running daemon for the specified workspace root. Once wired (CLI_REBUILD_3), the daemon will re-index the workspace and replace the in-memory graph atomically on completion.

Use --force to discard any incremental state and perform a full rebuild from scratch (equivalent to dropping and re-loading the workspace).

The command will wait up to --timeout seconds for the rebuild to finish and report the result as human-readable text or, with --json, as a machine-readable JSON object.

Fields

§path: PathBuf

Workspace root directory to rebuild.

§force: bool

Force a full rebuild from scratch, discarding incremental state.

§timeout: u64

Maximum seconds to wait for the rebuild to complete. Default is 1800 seconds (30 minutes). Pass 0 to fire-and-forget.

§json: bool

Emit machine-readable JSON output instead of human-readable text.

§

Reset

Reset a loaded workspace to Unloaded state without touching disk.

Cluster-G §3.2 — non-destructive recovery primitive. Drops the in-memory graph and refunds admission bytes, but PRESERVES the workspace’s manager-map entry, pinned bit, and last_error. Files under <root>/.sqry/ are untouched — destructive cleanup is owned by sqry workspace clean.

Use this to recover a workspace stuck in Failed or Evicted state (e.g. after a post-build oversize rejection) without stopping the daemon and without re-walking gitignore. The next sqry daemon load <path> is cheap because the prior snapshot is still on disk.

Pass --force to reset a pinned workspace (refused by default).

Mappings:

Loaded / Failed / Evicted → Unloaded Rebuilding → cancellation dispatched (-32009; retry after 250ms) Loading → -32008 ResetWhileLoading

Fields

§path: PathBuf

Workspace root directory to reset.

§force: bool

Reset even if the workspace is pinned in daemon.toml.
