A refusal to reduce a covariance.
Variants§
DimensionMismatch
The covariance is not square, or its side does not match the float vector’s length.
Fields
Empty
The problem has no ambiguities to resolve.
NotFinite
The covariance carries a non-finite entry, or the float vector does.
NotSymmetric
The covariance is not symmetric to within its own scale.
Checked rather than assumed: the factorisation reads only the lower triangle, so an asymmetric input would be silently reinterpreted as the symmetric matrix built from that half — a different problem, solved without complaint.
NotPositiveDefinite
The covariance is not positive definite, so the ILS objective is not a distance.
SearchExhausted
The enumeration reached MAX_SEARCH_NODES without exhausting the ellipsoid.
