A registry’s WHOIS nameserver list checked against the live parent-zone delegation (DelegationChecker::delegated_ns).

Some registries’ WHOIS lags their own zone (NIC Togo listed 2 of the 4 nameservers .tg delegates for nic.tg), and a WHOIS-only lookup has no RDAP record to cross-check against, so crate::SmartLookup attaches this to WHOIS-sourced results. Names are normalized (lowercase, no trailing dot) and sorted.

Fields

delegated: Vec<String>

NS names the parent zone delegates for the domain.

in_sync: bool

True when WHOIS lists exactly the delegated set.

missing_from_whois: Vec<String>

Delegated NS names WHOIS does not list.

missing_from_dns: Vec<String>

NS names WHOIS lists that the parent does not delegate.

Compares whois (any case, trailing dots allowed) with the delegated set.

pub fn whois_lists_none(&self) -> bool

True when WHOIS lists no nameservers but the parent delegates some. Many registries’ WHOIS omits nameservers entirely, so unlike a partial list this is no sign of a stale record.
